Last year’s inaugural event provided more than 250 attendees with a much-needed break from the winter blues. This year’s event will feature Marty Morrison & Friends featuring Jason Swagler, Adam Maness, and Bob DeBoo with special guest Erin Bode! Drummer Morrison has established himself as one of the most in-demand jazz drummers in the St. Louis area and Bode was dubbed the “most magnificent solo performer on the planet” by the BBC following her latest album, A Cold December Night.

Enjoy food (including Rue Lafayette), drinks (from Barefoot Wine, Square One Brewery and Distillery, and Augusta Brewing Company), live music and the beauty of the great outdoors with two star shows throughout the evening, all while staying toasty warm. Claire Kellett, co-anchor of Awake with News 4, will emcee the evening.

The Bistro at Grand Center, home to Jazz at the Bistro, recently debuted an all-new menu with great success! The completely reworked menu can be viewed here and is available during all shows at the Bistro. If you have tickets to the 7:30 p.m. set, you already have a dinner reservation, so come early and try a new dish! The kitchen remains open for the 9:30 p.m. show as well.

Two Grammy-Award-winning legends combine in this high-energy evening of Afro-Cuban big-band jazz presented by Jazz St. Louis. Cubano Be, Cubano Bop is a tribute to the legacy of the original conga king, Chano Pozo, and his co-creator in Latin jazz, “Dizzy” Gillespie, and their seminal 1947 Carnegie Hall concert.  Get into one of jazz’ great grooves with Latin bop classics such as “Manteca” and “Tin Tin Deo” plus original compositions and new collaborations.

Worldwide organ master Dr. Lonnie Smith returns to the Bistro with his wonderfully exuberant gospel-, blues-, funk-based brand of Hammond B-3 jazz.  Everybody rocks when the Doctor is in the house. As a special send-off to celebrate this group and their nomination, Jazz St. Louis will be presenting the East St. Louis Jazz Band at Jazz at the Bistro for a 90-minute set on May 5 at 8:30 p.m., with a special appearance by Mardra and Reggie Thomas.
