The Family Violence Council will be holding a benefit concert featuring caberet vocalist, Anna Bergman at Jazz at the Bistro on Sunday, May 18. Seating is at 7:30PM, performance is at 8PM. $100, donations are tax deductible. Contact Jannette Brickman at 314-241-0084 for more information.
JazzU End of Semester Showcase!

Join Jazz St. Louis and the students of JazzU on Monday, May 12, 6 pm at Jazz at the Bistro. The group, led by trumpeter Anthony Wiggins, will be performing and demonstrating the concepts they have been working on over the past school year.
This event is free and open to the public. Pizza and soda will be provided. Please RSVP to Director of Education, Phil Dunlap at 314-289-4033 by Friday, May 9 if you plan on attending. Hope to see you there!

Jazz St. Louis has announced the summer schedule of performances at Jazz at the Bistro. Tickets for all performances will go on sale Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at 10AM. You can purchase tickets at any Metrotix location, by phone at (314)534-1111 or online at www.metrotix.com.

The Jazz at Lincoln Center Band Director Academy provides music educators the opportunity to study the challenges of teaching jazz, particularly rhythm section techniques. Led by some of the foremost jazz educators in the country, the Academy emphasizes hands-on learning and a focus on concepts and techniques to be immediately applied in the classroom. Set on the campus of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, this three-day session of intensive professional enrichment integrates performance, history, pedagogy and jazz discussion.

Jazz St. Louis announces auditions for the 2008-2009 Jazz St. Louis All-Stars.
The Jazz St. Louis All-Stars are open to any and all high school students in the St. Louis region that are interested in auditioning. Auditions for the 2008-2009 season have been scheduled for Monday, May 19th 2008 and will be held at 4 pm at Jazz at the Bistro (3536 Washington Avenue, 63103).
