Emerson Jazz in the Schools

Redman Emerson

Made possible through generous funding from Emerson and support from the E. Desmond Lee Fine Arts Education Collaborative and the Fox Performing Arts Charitable Foundation, the Emerson Jazz in the Schools program allows students from area schools to experience the world class musicians that perform on the Ferring Jazz Bistro stage. The artists participate in a number of different activities, including performances, master classes and clinics, which take place either in the Harold and Dorothy Steward Center for Jazz and out in the participating schools.

Artists are only available on Friday afternoons. Applications will be considered on a first come, first served basis. No applicant is guaranteed an artist visit and all decisions are made at the discretion of Jazz St. Louis education staff. Artists that are no longer available will be crossed off.

The application for the 2017-18 Emerson Jazz in the Schools program will be available Friday, September 1st.

Ticket request forms are fill-able Pdfs. You can simply type right in the form, save, and email it in to andy@jazzstl.org. If you are using a Mac, do not use the default preview program as it will not display your information properly. Information for faxing and mailing in your requests is also listed on the form.

Questions can be directed to Andy Ament, Education Associate, at 314.881.3093 or andy@jazzstl.org.

Teachers, be sure to check out Jazz St. Louis’s Preparatory Lessons (under the link to the left), specially designed for schools participating in the Emerson Jazz in the Schools program. These fun and engaging lessons will teach your students about jazz in advance of the performance.
