Jamison Ross

Jamison Ross_eSRO“…his greatest gift is that he seems to genuinely love the music he’s making. Listeners are bound to do the same.” – DownBeat Magazine

Refreshing and invigorating, Jamison Ross is the epitome of soul. A composer, arranger, vocalist and drummer, Ross combines his gifts to present a unique offering to the jazz world. His Grammy-nominated debut release, Jamison, takes listeners on a musical journey that unifies his drumming abilities and vocal talent. Those drumming abilities won him the prestigious Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition for drums in 2012. Since then, Ross has worked with everyone from Jonathan Batiste and Dr. John to Wynton Marsalis, Christian McBride, and Snarky Puppy.

Jamison’s artistry, interpreted through his profound knowledge of jazz, is an honest and organic expression of humanity. He approaches drumming in a way that accesses the soulful sophistication of the music, never sacrificing truly musical moments for flashy chops.
