Bennett & Dunlap join SIUE Alumni at Sheldon

Jazz St. Louis' own Bob Bennett and Phil Dunlap, both graduates of SIUE's jazz department, will join several other noted St. Louis area musicians tomorrow night at the Sheldon Concert hall for the first-ever SIUE Alumni Jazz Band. The concert will feature the big band writing of Brett Stamps and SIUE students with the SIUE Concert Jazz Band in addition to the Alumni Band.

There will also be an Alumni Reception before the concert from 6:00-7:30pm at Jazz at the Bistro. Attendees will enjoy a delicious appetizer buffet, drinks and the opportunity to meet the student, faculty and alumni performers. Tickets can be purchased from the SIUE Alumni Association by calling 618-650-2762.

The concert starts at 8:00pm at the Sheldon Concert Hall, 3648 Washington Boulevard (just west of the Bistro). Tickets are $6 and can be purchased at the door

Scheduled to appear are faculty, alumni and numerous SIUE graduates from the last 25 years including:

Saxophones: Jason Swagler, Hugh Jones, Garrett Mitchell, Tim Stamps, Bob Bennett, Andy Ament, Aaron Lehde

Trumpet - Andy Tichenor, Adam Hucke, Gary Beamon , John Hahn

Trombone - Matt Hoormann, Cody Henry, Jim Owens, Jimmy Hahn, Steve Wyatt, Dennis McFarland

Drums - Miles Vandiver, Jerry Mazzuca

Bass - Zeb Briskovich, Chris Turnbaugh

Piano - Reggie Thomas, Kara Baldus, Adaron "Pops" Jackson, Phil Dunlap

Guitar - Rick Haydon, Curt Brewer
