Grammy Award-winning vocalist Catherine Russell teams up with jazz guitarist, vocalist, and bandleader John Pizzarelli in a stunning tribute to Billie Holiday and Frank Sinatra. Russell and Pizzarelli transport audiences to the glory days of jazz with masterful ease, capturing Holiday’s effortless grace and Sinatra’s cool swagger. World-renowned guitarist and singer John Pizzarelli has been hailed by the Boston Globe for “reinvigorating the Great American Songbook and re-popularizing jazz.” The Toronto Star pegged him as “the genial genius of the guitar,” and the Seattle Times saluted him as “a rare entertainer of the old school.”

With universal acclaim, Catherine Russell has performed on four continents. She’s been a hit at major Jazz Festivals including Monterey, Newport, North Sea, Jazz Ascona, Montreal, Bern, Rochester International, Panama, Tanglewood, and at sold-out venues like The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., Scullers in Boston, The Dakota in Minneapolis, Jazz at Lincoln Center in NYC, SFJazz in San Francisco, and Pasadena Pops in Los Angeles. All Music Guide says, “Russell emerged as a retro old school vocalist for the ages.”

"...early jazz performed with spirit, understanding and a sense of fun."

featuring Tia Fuller, Sean Jones, Peter Martin, and Warren Wolf

We’re reuniting one of the most exciting groups we’ve ever assembled! Saxophonist Tia Fuller is a veteran of the bands of Beyoncé and Esperanza Spalding, in addition to multiple albums as a leader herself. Perhaps no artist has been heard more frequently on the Jazz St. Louis stage in the last decade than trumpeter Sean Jones, who celebrated his bond with St. Louis audiences in releasing 2017’s Live From Jazz at the Bistro. Pianist Peter Martin is no stranger to his hometown audience, or audiences worldwide for that matter, traveling the globe with his own trio, as well as serving as musical director for multi-Grammy award winning vocalist Dianne Reeves. Vibraphonist Warren Wolf is following in the footsteps of vibes masters Bobby Hutcherson and Stefon Harris, taking over their spot in the SFJazz Collective, while also establishing himself as a leader with his heralded band The Wolfpack. Four Jazz St. Louis favorites on one stage for an experience you’ll only see and hear in St. Louis.
