Fund development is a critical piece of every nonprofit, and at Jazz St. Louis, our donors’ philanthropy makes up over two-thirds of our operating budget each year. Katy Robertson - Director of Development

Katy Robertson, Director of Development

Katy Robertson has spent the last eight years in the philanthropic sector working with some of St. Louis’ most iconic organizations including the Missouri Historical Society, St. Louis Zoo, St. Louis Children’s Hospital Foundation, and the University of Missouri St. Louis. Since joining Jazz St. Louis in the Fall of 2019, Katy has been charged with building a donor-centered, philanthropic program to support Jazz St. Louis’ operations, education programming, community engagement activities, and performances. Katy is a graduate of the University of Missouri-St. Louis with a Master of Business Administration and received her B.A. in the History of Art from Indiana University-Bloomington. She is serving her fourth year on the board of the Association of Fundraising Professionals St. Louis Chapter, and she is also a member of the Missouri Botanical Garden’s Young Friends Council.

Breanna Parker-Gills - Assistant Director of Development

Breanna Parker-Gills, Assistant Director of Development

Breanna Parker-Gills has a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the George Warren Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis. Her MSW is concentrated in Children, Youth, and Families with a specialization in management. Her specialization introduced her to fundraising and influenced the start of her career. Prior to Jazz St. Louis, Breanna was the Development and Community Relations Associate at the St. Louis Psychoanalytic Institute. Her main duties included grant writing, managing their program evaluation, and being the liaison for the Institute’s partnership with the Mental Health Collaborative at Casa de Salud. As the Assistant Director of Development at Jazz St. Louis, she works with the Young Friends board, maintains a portfolio of individual donors, and writes appeals and grants.

Jamie Kussman, Development Associate

Jamie Kussman, Development Associate

Jamie Kussman is a Development Associate who works with the Jazz St. Louis fundraising team to maintain its donor database and provide a smooth acknowledgement process to donors. Jamie believes in the power of art and education to improve lives. While this is her first purely development-focused position, Jamie has six years of experience working in direct service roles for several anti-violence organizations in the Midwest and has also been a teaching artist at Perennial community workshop in south St. Louis since June 2018. Jamie expects to receive her Master of Arts degree in Nonprofit Administration from Lindenwood University in May 2020.
