Our CEO and President, Gene Dobbs Bradford has given over 23 years to Jazz St. Louis as a well-respected leader. We want you to join us in celebrating his accomplishments, wishing him well, and honoring all he has given to make JSL what it is today!

Thanks to everyone who was able to attend and send Gene Dobbs Bradford off in style! The proceeds from the event are the foundation of the Gene Dobbs Bradford Endowment Fund!

This fund will focus on supporting the operations and staff; A cause for which Gene is a fierce advocate!

Mix it up – Bradford Style

Many a concert you could look over and see Gene sitting at the bar after introducing a show enjoying a spicy little number of his own concoction! You can order this ginger-infused take on the Manhattan at the Ferring Jazz Bistro, but Gene wanted to share his recipe directly with you!

The Mean Gene

Ingredients:

  • 3 ounces rye whiskey
  • 1.5 ounces sweet vermouth
  • 1 ounce Big O Ginger Liqueur
  • dash orange bitters

Preparation:

  1. Add the rye, sweet vermouth, Big O, and bitters to a mixing glass with ice, and stir until well-chilled.
  2. Strain into a chilled coupe.
  3. Garnish with a high-quality cherry (Luxardo or similar).
