Homecoming FAQ

How much are tickets?

$75.00

Is the usual $2.50/ticket convenience fee assessed on the tickets for this event?

No

Will I be receiving tickets in the mail, or will I be on a list when I arrive on 10/14?

All tickets purchased online will be mailed to guests until two weeks prior to the event. In the case you purchase after that point or have not received your tickets due to mail delays, the Jazz St. Louis team will be able to verify your purchase the night of the event.

If I am unable to attend, may I have a refund on my ticket?

No

I bought a ticket, but now I can’t attend. Can I transfer my ticket to a friend?

Yes, you may transfer the ticket to a friend. Please contact the development team to make the transfer by calling 314-584-6570 or emailing [email protected].

I bought a ticket, but now I can’t attend. Can I return my ticket as a tax-deductible donation?

Yes, your ticket can be donated back as a 100% tax-deductible contribution to Jazz St. Louis. Please contact the development team to donate your ticket by calling 314-584-6570 or emailing [email protected].

I want to bring my child – do you have child/student prices?

This is a 21+ event because there will be an open bar available to general admission and VIP guests.

Can I purchase tickets at the door?

We anticipate a sold-out crowd, so we encourage guests to purchase tickets ahead of time. New ticket purchases will not be available on the evening of the event.

When is the event?

Friday, October 14, 2022

What time does it start?

6:00pm

What time does the event end?

9:00pm

Will Denise Thimes be performing for the after party as she has in the past?

No. This year, the entire program is centered around performances including our JazzU Program Alumni, Education Program Instructors, and a super-group of STL-born musicians for our Homecoming band. The whole evening will be a party, and there will not be an after party.

Where is it taking place?

At the Anheuser-Busch Biergarten in Soulard, located at 1127 Pestalozzi St, St. Louis, MO 63118.

If there is a Cardinal play-off game that night, will the Biergarten have monitors so that we can watch the game?

If the Cardinals make the playoffs, our host Ozzie Smith will be sure the crowd is kept up to date.

Is the Biergarten accessible for those who have mobility issues?

Yes.

Will there be a sign language interpreter for the deaf?

We can provide this service upon request. Request must be received by September 16, 2022. Please alert our events manager at [email protected].

Is the Biergarten outdoors? Is there a plan if there is inclement weather?

Yes, the Biergarten is a covered, open-air space. We do not anticipate canceling because of weather unless the weather is extreme or could jeopardize guests’ safety.

Since the Biergarten is outdoors, can I bring my pet/support animal?

No. Only registered service animals are allowed in the Biergarten with prior notice. Please contact our event manager at [email protected] to arrange your service animals’ needs.

Is there a recommended dress code for this event?

Jazzy Casual is the recommended attire. Have fun and be comfortable!

What, if any, COVID precautions are being taken to ensure this event is safe for attendees? Do I need to show proof of vaccination? Do I need to wear a mask?

At this time, we do not have any formal COVID screening procedures in place for the event. We encourage all attendees to respect the health of other guests by verifying they are feeling well before attending the event. The space is large and open-air, with plenty of space to spread out.

Who is performing?

Three local bands with JSL Creative Director Keyon Harrold – This year’s event features performances by three bands that demonstrate Jazz St. Louis’ mission: a band of JazzU Program Alumni, a band of instructors from a variety of our education and community engagement programs, and a super-group of STL-born artists being featured in our homecoming band. JSL Creative Advisor Keyon Harrold will sit in for a tune with each band.

What does my $75.00 ticket include?

Open Bar (beer and wine) and food, and three hours of the best party and performance in town in support of Jazz St. Louis!

Is valet parking available? If so, how much does it cost?

Valet Parking is provided for free to our Sponsors and VIP Ticket Holders. Self-Parking is available for all general admission guests.

If I want to be a sponsor of the event, where can I get more information on that?

Contact Director of Development, Katy Robertson, at [email protected] or visit www.jazzstl.org/homecoming to make your gift today!

What time is dinner served?

Food buffets and stations will be available and replenished throughout the evening.

If I have a dietary need, who do I contact?

Please contact our event manager at [email protected].

Is there an auction?

There will be an auction between performances featuring a limited number of Jazz St. Louis-specific items. These one-of-a-kind items will only be available at this event.

Will this Homecoming be streamed like it was last year?

No, this year’s event is live and in-person at the AB Biergarten.

It says my ticket is General Admission, but my friends and I bought our tickets separately. We all want to be seated together for dinner and the performance – who do we need to contact to ensure that we’ll be seated together?

There is not assigned seating for this event. You can expect an evening of mingling around with your friends from any location in the Biergarten where you feel comfortable, all while enjoying the best night of music!

Is there also a performance at The Harold & Dorothy Steward Center for Jazz that night, if we don’t want to attend the Homecoming, but would still like to enjoy an evening of Jazz?

There will be no performance at The Harold & Dorothy Steward Center for Jazz on October 14.
